Kensi,<br />
<br />
Have I told you you're amazing? You are 18 going on 3. Everything anyone else does you have to do too (especially if it's your big sister). Whether it's climbing the ladder at the park, or eating Mom's salad, you have to try it. This summer you are especially loving parks, bouncing on beds and couches, swimming, water tables and anything else that involves being outside. You have started to dance, which usually involves "side-eye spinning" as we call it. You keep your eyes on one spot and then spin around in circles giving you side eyes. With your flexibility and coordination, I think you would make a great gymnast, but we'll see if you want to follow in your sister's footsteps and become a dancer too. </div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sIHUjBVGFqg/U9WOUpIaTpI/AAAAAAAAIl0/gbNZW4BerXA/s1600/DSC_0929.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sIHUjBVGFqg/U9WOUpIaTpI/AAAAAAAAIl0/gbNZW4BerXA/s1600/DSC_0929.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
Your big personality is really starting to show. You love to laugh and make everyone else follow. You are even starting to get humor. When you have a dirty diaper you'll say "Stinky" and hold your nose, followed by a fit of giggles. (Guess who taught you that one [Dad]) You've gotten really good at hiding. You'll find a spot and stay super quiet until we find you. Then you laugh and laugh. You've even had me worried a couple times when I couldn't find you. Luckily this was only at home and hasn't happened in public...yet. I foresee the day in a store when you are hiding between the racks and I'm panicking. Your personality is also full of determination and you always know exactly what you want. Lucky for us we can understand you a good half of the time. Mama is still your favorite person, but you have finally opened up to others! Nana has become your good friend and you warming up to friends much quicker.<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
You are learning new words everyday. You repeat everything and anything. You are even putting a few words together. Everything is "Iwant ____." To other people you call me "my Mama." Your favorite word is "sssshoe" and you are still obsessed with taking them on and off. You have also become obsessed with "teeth" aka your tooth brush. When I can't find you, the first place I look is the bathroom and usually I find you standing on the stool brushing them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Already love to dress up with Sienna.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W8u4WXYF6po/U9WTIkoLquI/AAAAAAAAImU/EgDACwVno-w/s1600/DSC_0939.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W8u4WXYF6po/U9WTIkoLquI/AAAAAAAAImU/EgDACwVno-w/s1600/DSC_0939.JPG" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
Those eye teeth are still working on coming through. One top one completely broke and 2 are very close. It has been a very long, and painful experience. We got your measurements and no surprise you are still off the charts. You held very consistent percentage wise as last time. Still long and lean. We are going to have a very hard time finding pants that will fit you this winter.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_n-1v2yvqGE/U6coH13UecI/AAAAAAAAIik/jm-V7p0f1Jw/s1600/DSC_0874+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_n-1v2yvqGE/U6coH13UecI/AAAAAAAAIik/jm-V7p0f1Jw/s1600/DSC_0874+edit.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Sienna had her 2nd dance recital!! She did so great and had so much fun being on the big stage. 2 weeks before the recital I was convinced she wasn't going to do it. She's going through an extremely clingy phase and refused to even dance at her weekly practice. For the next 2 weeks, Justin and I did our best to talk it up, showed her last years recital video, and had others help encourage her. I even talked to her teacher and we came up with a plan to get her on the stage. <div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aweV5_IkrUY/U6csg8P93eI/AAAAAAAAIj0/GPj69Wz212k/s1600/DSC_0863+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aweV5_IkrUY/U6csg8P93eI/AAAAAAAAIj0/GPj69Wz212k/s1600/DSC_0863+edit.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The night of the rehearsal came. Lucky for us we were allowed to sit with them backstage before they danced. When it was her turn to line up, she started to panic and cling to me but I was able to hand her over to her teacher and we were good to go! Once she was on the stage, she got the recital high and never wanted to leave it. Come actual recital night she hardly said goodbye to me when I dropped her off. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We were able to take videos and pictures on rehearsal night. We also got to sit in the front row which gave a great view and she could see us to wave. On recital night we were in almost the back row. Sitting so far back made her look TINY on stage. I wish I would have taken a picture just for that perspective of it. When she got on the stage recital night she started waving/yelling Hi Mommy! Hi Daddy!! while looking for us. It was pretty cute. In addition to her 2 dances, she also did the finale, where everyone walks on stage and takes a bow. She stood up there shaking her hips, clapping and dancing the whole time. I didn't think we'd be able to get her off the stage. </div>

No one can exactly remember how long it's been but someone thought this might be the 10th one! Either way it's been a great tradition that we started and it always so much fun. Every year it grows as more kids are added to the group. In honor of Cran's Mom we did some fun kid pictures. One by age and one by height.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I thought I tried really hard to take more than just kid pictures but I apparently only took one. Oops! Next year I'll do better.<br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Cran & Brent hosted the latest cooking club. Yes, Brent is back! Lucky for us he has Saturday nights off again. Cran has a friend who is from Korea, so they decided to plan a Korean themed menu with her help. She even gave us authentic seaweed sent from her family for our soup! They thought they'd be funny and send us the menu in Korean characters. Good thing for the Internet so we could translate. </span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ssHFZxVgtKM/U5e3yev6OPI/AAAAAAAAIek/kl91ehgaNcA/s1600/DSC_0708.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ssHFZxVgtKM/U5e3yev6OPI/AAAAAAAAIek/kl91ehgaNcA/s1600/DSC_0708.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTai8JEps0k/U5e33vHINHI/AAAAAAAAIe0/mQ4goNCEyDY/s1600/DSC_0709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTai8JEps0k/U5e33vHINHI/AAAAAAAAIe0/mQ4goNCEyDY/s1600/DSC_0709.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-blwiaokIw10/U5e33AMrKRI/AAAAAAAAIew/4IMVlRYhje8/s1600/DSC_0710.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-blwiaokIw10/U5e33AMrKRI/AAAAAAAAIew/4IMVlRYhje8/s1600/DSC_0710.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The menu was very unique. We started with an appetizer and soup course.<br />
Korean Pancakes Duo<br />
Miso Soup<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-37U3VYCKk_4/U5e4fb9WmjI/AAAAAAAAIe8/W7KaIqB5JnU/s1600/DSC_0714.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-37U3VYCKk_4/U5e4fb9WmjI/AAAAAAAAIe8/W7KaIqB5JnU/s1600/DSC_0714.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Everything in this course was delicious. One of the pancakes was very spicy with lots of peppers. It was more of a traditional pancake base. The other had more of an egg base and we added in veggies and sausage. The soup (fresh seaweed included) was the best Miso soup I've tried. I'm not a big tofu fan but I was able to stomach it in this. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For the main course we had:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Bulgogi over Rice Provides</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Crispy Sweet Potatoes in Caramel Sauce</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1unx3pOGhQU/U5e4pl5sI-I/AAAAAAAAIfM/g4BzXal_ffU/s1600/DSC_0716.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1unx3pOGhQU/U5e4pl5sI-I/AAAAAAAAIfM/g4BzXal_ffU/s1600/DSC_0716.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The Bulgogi was awesome. Such a good flavor in the meat. We all decided the red lettuce was a bit bitter for the dish and would be better with regular lettuce. The sweet potatoes were very caramely and paired great with the bitter lettuce.<br />
<br />
For dessert we had:<br />
Red Bean Cake<br />
Korean Coffee<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SvzCm7bVDQc/U5e4ovR98iI/AAAAAAAAIfE/LR49hy0RVh4/s1600/DSC_0717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SvzCm7bVDQc/U5e4ovR98iI/AAAAAAAAIfE/LR49hy0RVh4/s1600/DSC_0717.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We were all a little skeptical of this cake to start with. Who puts red beans in a cake? I will say the red bean paste you buy is sweetened. I tasted it raw and it was alright. This picture makes it look good right? The top of it actually was edible. But then you get to the inside...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XfNaRTtUtAw/U5nHh0OKnyI/AAAAAAAAIg0/Yh821AN0CqY/s1600/20140503_213228.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XfNaRTtUtAw/U5nHh0OKnyI/AAAAAAAAIg0/Yh821AN0CqY/s1600/20140503_213228.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: #222222; font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white;">Sticky, ewwy, gooey mess. It was awful. (I made it, I can say that) There was a little mishaps with the mixer and some of the ingredients flying all over the room. I'm not sure that was the reason for the texture. We don't know if it's supposed to be like that or if it's cause we had to make it dairy free. Either way, we won't be making it again. But always fun to try! The coffee made up for the dessert. It was wonderful especially for being instant. </span></span>Kristenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16978608920190056560noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745780499071650482.post-92159052420953308322014-06-10T20:59:00.000-05:002014-06-10T20:59:48.886-05:00Treading Water...I'm here. It's been so long since I've blogged I don't even know where to start. We've had a very full couple of months. Life seems to just be flying by. Most weeks I feel like we're just treading water trying to keep our heads above so we can survive. Not to say that it's bad. We've had many fun events that I'd love to get up here. We celebrated Easter, Mother's Day, and a few birthdays, visited my Mom and Ron in Arizona, saw the WI family, went to FL, ate a great Korean themed cooking club, had our annual Memorial Day BBQ, dealt with sick kids, got another Stitch Fix, and most recently had a garage sale which sold off all the baby stuff! (I love purging and a clean house) So we're alive and doing well. To my 3 loyal fans - I hope to get more up soon. Don't give up on me. :)<br />
<br />
I'll leave you with this.<br />

I have been struggling with my wardrobe for awhile. I want new pieces but never have time to go out and really shop around. When I do, I'm always in a hurry and seem to gravitate to the same old styles. I had high hopes that Stitch Fix would be an easy way to get some new and fun pieces.<br />
<br />
A little about <a href="https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3680909" target="_blank">Stitch Fix</a>. You fill out a profile of yourself online. You tell about your body, sizes, what you tend to like, rate some clothes collections, give price ranges for spending, and how out of your comfort zone you want to go. I think it auto signs you up for getting a fix every month but it looks very easy to skip months you don't want.<br />
<br />
Each fix gives you 5 items to choose from. You can keep all, some, or none. It costs $20 to get the fix sent to you, which is applied to your order. If you decide to keep nothing you are out the $20. If you keep all the items you get 25% off your order (enticement!!) Shipping is free for returns. They even included a return bag for my items. Here's what I got in my first fix (sorry for the horrible selfie pics. They are not my thing)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Navy and green polka dot top. Loose fitting and very cute! It's a silky material.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIPn2g-i2Yo/U1XLB1bTO9I/AAAAAAAAIZ4/mms8Bp-CXEY/s1600/DSC_0533.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIPn2g-i2Yo/U1XLB1bTO9I/AAAAAAAAIZ4/mms8Bp-CXEY/s1600/DSC_0533.JPG" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
High waist cropped pants. They are black with a pattern overlay. This was my big surprise of the box. I thought I would hate the high waist but they are very comfortable and stretchy. No zipper or buttons on the pants.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EtQuQ1fdQT0/U1cRgfplckI/AAAAAAAAIa4/hry4lkv835o/s1600/20140421_174235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EtQuQ1fdQT0/U1cRgfplckI/AAAAAAAAIa4/hry4lkv835o/s1600/20140421_174235.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chevron patterned, multi-colored shirt. Has a unique neckline and is very comfortable. The sleeves gather at the bottom and scrunch up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oMRll723T-E/U1gCViilZYI/AAAAAAAAIcE/NKjYG9mWrwk/s1600/20140423_125953.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oMRll723T-E/U1gCViilZYI/AAAAAAAAIcE/NKjYG9mWrwk/s1600/20140423_125953.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A fairly basic fuschia tee, with a fun, low dipping back. I like this because it is a thicker fabric than most tees you find - no cami required!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LwzMFwfUTB4/U1cRicm-9GI/AAAAAAAAIbI/yaT9VYRrEf4/s1600/20140421_174737.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LwzMFwfUTB4/U1cRicm-9GI/AAAAAAAAIbI/yaT9VYRrEf4/s1600/20140421_174737.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With my fix came this sheet with style ideas for each piece. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m1vgUFWS374/U1cR1NaamhI/AAAAAAAAIbY/Tsjl95ZPg9c/s1600/20140421_175159.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m1vgUFWS374/U1cR1NaamhI/AAAAAAAAIbY/Tsjl95ZPg9c/s1600/20140421_175159.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
My 5th piece was a pair of silver, dangly earrings. I forgot to take a pic. They were cute but nothing super special. I decided to keep everything which came to just under $200. I really liked the first 3 pieces and the cost of those 3 alone was $200. Since you get the discount for buying all 5, I got all 5 for the same price. I'm very happy with this so far. I'm curious to see with my next months fix if they will add pieces to go with what I kept, or if it'll be completely different stuff. If anyone is interested I can post it again!Kristenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16978608920190056560noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745780499071650482.post-75879762892286822022014-04-22T20:36:00.000-05:002014-04-22T20:36:03.848-05:0015 Months<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Kensi,<br />
<br />
I wish I could take this age, bottle it up, and keep it forever. Everything you do is new and exciting. You change by the day and it's so fun to watch it unfold. I was really hoping by this post I could say you are walking and you are! You've been steady on your feet for months, but haven't had the desire to stand up and do it. Instead you enjoyed walking/running on your knees. It was much more efficient for you - and you still do it, but every day you walk more on your feet. I love how you first decided to walk. I got a new app on my phone called 7 Minute Workout. I wanted to get your Daddy and Sienna to do it with me. We were all running around, being crazy doing this workout. You were trying to join in, but no one was really paying attention. As we are all laying on the ground doing our crunches, I look over and see you stand up and start walking to us. Big smiles and all proud. I think you either wanted more attention or wanted to join in. Either way it worked and I started yelling for everyone to look at you. Besides being a new walker, you are also a climber. There are many times I find you sitting on top of the play table looking out the window. You are also just tall enough to get up on the couch, which leads to bouncing and delight.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You want to be just like your big sister and do everything she does.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iZ5fXbHxQbs/U1XL3xCc15I/AAAAAAAAIaA/NR8B1PcR8WQ/s1600/DSC_0485.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iZ5fXbHxQbs/U1XL3xCc15I/AAAAAAAAIaA/NR8B1PcR8WQ/s1600/DSC_0485.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Your girly side is starting to show. You are obsessed with shoes. If Sienna leaves any of her dress shoes laying around, you immediately try to put them on. Took you awhile but you now have enough coordination to get them on most of the time. I will also find you in the laundry where we keep all the kid shoes and you'll have them all pulled out, trying on as many as you can. If I ever have my slippers or a pair of shoes off but close to me, you will grab them and try to put them on my feet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dress shoe obsession.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0FmLX9bzkxM/U1cRUBLb-vI/AAAAAAAAIao/Jf62eqQ_j9I/s1600/20140324_183428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0FmLX9bzkxM/U1cRUBLb-vI/AAAAAAAAIao/Jf62eqQ_j9I/s1600/20140324_183428.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It looks like we have another chatter box in the house. Like your sister, you are an early talker. You have a solid 15-20 words that you use. Your favorite is "Doggeeeeeeeee", which you also sign while saying it. Mama has now become "Mommeeeeeeeee." A few others are hi, bye bye, book, ahhh done, Boo Boo (for Sienna), and Mi Mi (for Minnie).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With Sienna's Mi Mi - you do have your own smaller version to cuddle.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KHQ2wrz024k/U1cRNYv9c9I/AAAAAAAAIag/pYroV11Q054/s1600/20140417_063806.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KHQ2wrz024k/U1cRNYv9c9I/AAAAAAAAIag/pYroV11Q054/s1600/20140417_063806.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
You broke your 4 molars and now appear to be working on the eye teeth. I can't wait until this is all done! Hopefully by 18 months you will give us a break until the 2 year molars come in.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lots of teeth.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NPKUl0GcW-I/U1XMKHTkzBI/AAAAAAAAIaI/728_awJt_tc/s1600/DSC_0419.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NPKUl0GcW-I/U1XMKHTkzBI/AAAAAAAAIaI/728_awJt_tc/s1600/DSC_0419.JPG" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
We got official measurements and no surprise your height is still off the charts. Dr said you are as tall as the average 2 year old<br />
Height: 33 inches (98%)<br />
Weight: 23.5 lbs (79%)<br />
Head: 19.3 (99%)<br />
<br />

Can't wait to see what you bring us next. Love you so much my baby!<br />

She was so excited to have Mom, Dad and Kensi watch her dance. The class showed us how they stretched, tumbled, followed the leader and most importantly the dances they are working on for the recital.<br />

I have never seen such cold weather. While the temps were setting record lows, we were so lucky to have 2 vacations planned that made the month go quick. Our first one was the annual trip to WI Dells with the Eids. Everyone had a blast getting away and playing in the water. It took Kensi awhile to realize that she loved being a water baby, but she got there. And then she was game for it all. She might have gone down more slides than Sienna.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
"Hands up Mom!"<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-emJUVyhb5b8/UxOdu2yo5FI/AAAAAAAAIWI/Rf3LoYsmP50/s1600/DSC_0378+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-emJUVyhb5b8/UxOdu2yo5FI/AAAAAAAAIWI/Rf3LoYsmP50/s1600/DSC_0378+edit.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zrRQtcS0IW8/UxOdwSZvgnI/AAAAAAAAIWQ/0nyRQay3MUQ/s1600/dells2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zrRQtcS0IW8/UxOdwSZvgnI/AAAAAAAAIWQ/0nyRQay3MUQ/s1600/dells2.jpg" height="232" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Like every other little girl, they are obsessed with the movie Frozen. Lucky for us it was on pay per view at the hotel!<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pvR6dq4aJ7U/UxOdStb9cLI/AAAAAAAAIV4/0E_QskUqKzk/s1600/dells1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pvR6dq4aJ7U/UxOdStb9cLI/AAAAAAAAIV4/0E_QskUqKzk/s1600/dells1.jpg" height="232" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And this game. The weekend was not complete until each family got to bring home a ball.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qGGEJGODRDc/UxOdVN8DxTI/AAAAAAAAIWA/-Do4YkK4WQ4/s1600/dells7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qGGEJGODRDc/UxOdVN8DxTI/AAAAAAAAIWA/-Do4YkK4WQ4/s1600/dells7.jpg" height="232" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2 weeks after the Dells, the real vacation came. 5 nights, 6 days in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. 4 adults, no children and SUN!! It was everything we could ask for...after we got over a little scare. I came down with a weird bug Friday night before we were supposed to leave (flying out Sunday) Luckily it was only a 24 hour thing and by Sunday morning I was ready to go. Big sigh of relief as we stepped onto the air plane. Less than 5 hours later we landed and felt the sun warming our faces. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The week was filled with laziness. Every morning we'd claim our beds and chairs by the pool and take a walk on the beach. The rest of the day was filled with food, drinks, games, laughter, and of course naps. The resort was beautiful and beaches were endless.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Beds by the pools...and a lovely pedicure.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vLHetmvao10/UxOncyR7OfI/AAAAAAAAIXQ/48y7x5B7pc4/s1600/20140217_082829.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vLHetmvao10/UxOncyR7OfI/AAAAAAAAIXQ/48y7x5B7pc4/s1600/20140217_082829.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>

It might or might not have taken a few tries to make this. And maybe one that had the wrong year too.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-36YsV8kapqE/UxOeTIO3A0I/AAAAAAAAIWg/hl8_c0w0DxI/s1600/DSCF0709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-36YsV8kapqE/UxOeTIO3A0I/AAAAAAAAIWg/hl8_c0w0DxI/s1600/DSCF0709.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I am still reliving all of it as I sit inside not wanting to leave the house in this bitter cold. Come on spring, you can do it!Kristenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16978608920190056560noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745780499071650482.post-10532271217593694332014-02-23T14:17:00.001-06:002014-02-23T14:19:48.395-06:003 1/2 years<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Sienna,<br />
You are growing up so fast and are learning so much at school. You love to soak up every ounce of it. Right after Christmas you moved up to the next room: Pre-2. You were so proud of the accomplishment and already talk about moving onto Pre-K. I am amazed by all you are learning. You can write your name quite well all on your own. One weekend, the only thing you did was practice writing your name over and over until you got it. You claim you had your first boyfriend, Jackson, who would kiss you everyday. You tend to make up stories, so I have no idea if that was true or not. He's now moved up to the next class so we will never know!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A couple versions of your name writing.</div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-acVLoD3ycqM/UwpVgYGxuRI/AAAAAAAAIVY/p6ywEkdoZ0s/s1600/DSC_0392.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-acVLoD3ycqM/UwpVgYGxuRI/AAAAAAAAIVY/p6ywEkdoZ0s/s1600/DSC_0392.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
You love doing anything with art and crafts. Markers, crayons, colored pencils, water colors, dobbers, stickers, scissors, or glue are all you want to play with. At school the coloring station is your favorite and where I always find you when I pick you up. We have stacks and stacks of art projects. You can't get enough. When you aren't doing art, you are usually signing and dancing. The Frozen soundtrack is your current obsession and you love to say, "Mom, watch me. I can shake my butt." Then you'll turn around and give us a booty shake. Your imagination is growing bigger. You and I had our first round of playing barbies the other night. We took them to the hair salon, home for a sleepover, and for a ride in the car (which was a picnic basket). Playing pretend family or princesses is also occurring more and more. You love to be the Mom and boss everyone around. I am always the "sweetie" and Kensi gets to be the baby.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Coloring as usual.</div>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7NMgdxCj4So/UwpUwNTutLI/AAAAAAAAIVE/LRqppxzp0DI/s1600/DSC_0132.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7NMgdxCj4So/UwpUwNTutLI/AAAAAAAAIVE/LRqppxzp0DI/s1600/DSC_0132.JPG" height="212" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
You are very articulate but there are still some words that you say that crack me up:<br />
Pasketti for spaghetti<br />
Alona for Leona<br />
Mall-Ameriga for Mall of America<br />
Fruit Cottontail for fruit cocktail<br />
<br />
You have always been our cautious child. You like to feel out a situation with Mom or Dad until you are comfortable with it, although many times you surprise me with your confidence. You have a definite fear of heights and would prefer to have 2 feet on the ground instead of climbing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Big girl, proud on the dentist chair. Don't be fooled by the sweet, confident smile, you were terrified when it came to the actual exam.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
You have such a big personality which swings from the sweetest, move lovable kid to some pretty high drama crying. :) Very typical for your age. You and I have very similar personalities which sometimes leads to major clashing. I assume this will continue for the rest of our lives. But no matter what happens you are always full of lots of hugs, kisses, and I love yous. You crack your Dad and I up everyday with your ideas and expressions. We love to hear what will come out of your mouth next!<br />

<div>
Remember years ago when I posted that my Mom and I were<a href="http://kjovle.blogspot.com/2008/09/kinda-famous.html"> famous</a> at the rec center? Over the past couple years, they built an all new ginormous rec center that was completed last summer. It's so big that until recently I hadn't even been on all of the levels. A few weeks ago a coworker came up to me and told me he thought there was a picture of me on the third floor where the track is. Sure enough I went up there and as I rounded the final corner of the track there's a HUGE poster of my Mom and I. Same one as before but it looks like they reversed it. This picture doesn't do the size of it justice. That wall spans 2 stories to give you some perspective. Pretty cool! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Planning a birthday party for a 1 year old is challenging. We tried to do everything keeping Kensi in mind since it's supposed to be all about her. She gets overwhelmed with too many people, so the party was kept small to close family. Since she's such a Mama's girl I wasn't sure how she was going to do, but she proved to be a party girl. Loved all the attention (as long as no one got too close). She even attempted to open her gifts. Lucky for her she's got a great older sister and cousin to help her out. We made all her favorite foods - meatball subs, french fries, and a fruit salad. I have never seen her be so quiet while eating and eat so much food. Success!</div>

<br />
Kensi,<br />
1 year old!! Time goes so fast. It's so hard to believe that a year ago I was holding this tiny little baby in my arms on the coldest day of the year. You've changed so much in 1 year and add such joy to our family. You will always be my little baby, even though you've long lost the littleness and squirm away when I try to hold you like one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Always moving - you would not sit still for this months pictures<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3P27cJMCzFA/UuUmKDN9UyI/AAAAAAAAIRk/ZvMAsRp432w/s1600/DSC_0334.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3P27cJMCzFA/UuUmKDN9UyI/AAAAAAAAIRk/ZvMAsRp432w/s1600/DSC_0334.JPG" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
After your early crawling at 7 months, I thought for sure you would be walking by now. But nope. You don't show much interest and would much prefer the turbo crawl. You are starting to stand without holding onto to anything but end up dropping to your knees instead of trying a step. I know as soon as you want to do it you'll be going and won't look back. We had to finally put up the baby gate on the stairs. I was in the laundry room folding clothes while your Dad was doing something near the TV. I came out and asked, "Where's Kensi?" I could hear you but didn't see you. Without missing a beat, Sienna replied, "I think she's upstairs." Like it was no big deal and happened everyday. Sure enough I looked and you were on the landing halfway up, so proud of yourself. Full of big smiles for me. Now anytime you hear the gate open you make a beeline for it and are very mad when we don't let you up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Your big smiles</div>

<br />
You learned to sign for milk and sort of do eat. You put your whole hand up to your mouth for eat. Close enough. You got your 8th tooth this month and those 4 molars are working on coming though. You'll have a mouthful soon! You decided fruits are now your favorite food, especially strawberries. You'd live off those if we let you.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CO05KeZ6HlM/UuUmFyiH-_I/AAAAAAAAIRU/P6tCB00YL4E/s1600/DSC_0333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CO05KeZ6HlM/UuUmFyiH-_I/AAAAAAAAIRU/P6tCB00YL4E/s1600/DSC_0333.JPG" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
You took your first big spill this month. You were sitting backwards on your riding car. When you scooted, it tipped over and you smashed into the corner of the toy box...hard. It looked painful and oh did you scream. And then your nose bled. Not a ton but enough to make a Mom worry. Poor thing. The only thing to comfort you was your froggy. You love to rub his soft fuzz against your face. It puts you to sleep and this did the same. After a quick nap you were back to my giggly girl. Left a good mark on your nose though.<br />

<br />
Christmas started for us when we were down in FL. With so many families to celebrate with it leads to lots of Christmases. All of them were so much fun. Sienna was really into Christmas and Santa and of course the presents. Kensi was really into...boxes. :) She didn't do much with opening the presents but loved playing with the box once it was opened.<br />

Christmas morning Sienna ran out of her room as soon as Justin let Conner out. (she was told to say in bed until 7 but must've been just waiting for the first sound of movement) Kensi was still sleeping so we watched cartoons for a little bit before checking out Santa's gifts. Sienna was ecstatic to find Santa had brought her a tablet. Kensi was also thrilled with her ball pit. </div>

Kensi's favorite gift of the day was her sippy cup. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once breakfast was over and all the gifts were opened we headed over to Nana & Grandpa's house for the afternoon. It went surprisingly smoothly with the 4 kids. We even got them all napping at the same time and had some rare adult moments. Regina and Vicky were also able to join us this year.</div>

The next weekend we celebrated with my Dad's side of the family. This crew is really growing. We had 4 babies under 1! The older kids bonded over a game of monsters. The girls were hiding in the tent while the boys aka Monsters would come and scare them. Screams and fits of giggles ensued. It was so great to see everyone!</div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TcjRwbbAqEc/UrnknUMcOLI/AAAAAAAAIL8/V_ouh2o0bes/s1600/DSC_0004+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TcjRwbbAqEc/UrnknUMcOLI/AAAAAAAAIL8/V_ouh2o0bes/s320/DSC_0004+edit.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
This year has gone so fast. I can't believe you are going to be 1 in a month! Your personality is really starting to shine. You've always been my little giggler and now you are turning into a cuddler too. I love it. You'll crawl over to me, stand up and snuggle your head into my shoulder. You love to lay on your back and be tickled while you roll around. You are imitating everything we do. I'll be in the kitchen putting on lotion and I'll look at you watching me from the family room. You'll start rubbing your hands together like you are putting it on too. This also means you are signing!! You've masted more and all done. I'm trying to teach you eat, water, and milk next. Right now whenever you are hungry (which is most of the time) you'll start signing more. It's soo cool to start this communication. I am thinking you might be an early talker too. When you sign more you say "Ma" and when you sign all done you say "Ahh Daa". You've also started to say "Hi."<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are so long!<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-834ZktbuEuY/UrnkxHld70I/AAAAAAAAIMI/ZuKTgKf7tpk/s1600/DSC_0977+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-834ZktbuEuY/UrnkxHld70I/AAAAAAAAIMI/ZuKTgKf7tpk/s320/DSC_0977+edit.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
You love your sister more than anything and always follow her around. You 2 are starting to interact more. The other night she was rolling you a ball and you would hand it back to her. All while giggling of course. At the dinner table you 2 makes sounds back and forth, which also ends in fits of giggles.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Making raspberries while showing off your new bows.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w036vRZ1Qew/UrnkfadTXKI/AAAAAAAAIL0/Am96d6ErAz4/s1600/DSC_0836+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w036vRZ1Qew/UrnkfadTXKI/AAAAAAAAIL0/Am96d6ErAz4/s320/DSC_0836+edit.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The past couple months you have finally started getting into books. Pulling out your bin of books is the best way to keep you occupied. You'll even let me read a couple to you before bed. Before you'd cry and squirm away every time I tried. Your second favorite activity is pulling everything off the end tables. With your long arms and height nothing is safe. Remotes and coasters are your top choices.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nouozwt6HYQ/UrnkxP_FhII/AAAAAAAAIMM/WfU_HZVKRZY/s1600/DSC_0985+edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nouozwt6HYQ/UrnkxP_FhII/AAAAAAAAIMM/WfU_HZVKRZY/s320/DSC_0985+edit.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
All you wanted for Christmas was your two front teeth and you got them! They poked through at the beginning of the month and are showing nicely now. You have 7 chompers already! Very useful since you love to eat. You have out eaten your Mom at meals.<br />

This year, Papa treated her to a special lunch with her favorites - Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, and Sleeping Beauty. It was amazing. I have never experienced anything so magical. All of the princesses made my princess feel so special. Before the lunch started we got a meet and greet with Cinderella, who is Sienna's favorite. I wasn't sure how she would react to meeting the princesses since she was a bit scared of some of the characters the day before. Turns out there was nothing to worry about. She was so excited to meet Cinderella. She walked right up to her, handed her the autograph book, and they started talking about Cinderella's mice. She proudly showed her the princess shirt she was wearing and even ended her time by giving Cinderella a hug.<br />

<br />
After meeting Cinderella we headed upstairs in the castle for lunch. Before each princess entered music would started and a booming voice would announce their arrival while everyone cheered. Sienna spent most of her lunch turned around in her seat eagerly awaiting the next princess.<br />

Kensi wasn't a big fan of the princesses. She cried for all of them and was much happier just eating.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And the food... It was delish. I didn't get many photos of it. This was my dessert. Some mouse with a spongy cake base covered in chocolate. Mmmmmmm.</div>

I think we will definitely have to do this again when both of my princesses are old enough to appreciate it. Maybe even get them all dolled up for the occasion.Kristenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16978608920190056560noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745780499071650482.post-73668663951748901972013-12-21T14:48:00.000-06:002013-12-21T14:48:41.166-06:00SantaThere has been lots of talk of Santa this year. Sienna knows all about what he does and knows exactly what she wants - "a tablet like Mommy & Daddy." Oh dear, having techy parents isn't always a good thing. I was very against this idea at first, but then I did some research and found a good option for young kids. So we went with it.<br />
<br />
Nana and Grandpa took Sienna & Ariana to the Macys downtown Santa display where real Santa was waiting at the end of the show. Sienna said she wanted to sit on his lap and talk to him - until it was actually time to do so. Nana ended up sitting with her and she managed to agree with Santa that she wanted presents. She called me up after and happily told me she was a little shy with Santa. I reassured her that he still knew what she wanted.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GJNcoUzZSyM/UrX8Lu5sjKI/AAAAAAAAIJg/5IRqkuKm_vU/s1600/DSC_0972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GJNcoUzZSyM/UrX8Lu5sjKI/AAAAAAAAIJg/5IRqkuKm_vU/s320/DSC_0972.JPG" width="233" /></a></div>
<br />
I knew we'd see another Santa at Disney and she'd get another chance. The big day came to go meet Santa again. That morning Papa had Santa on speed dial, so we were able to call him and leave a message with the girls names and what they wanted. Even after doing that, Sienna still said she wanted to go sit on his lap. Off to Disney we went to meet Santa. I was still skeptical about the whole thing and assumed I'd be sitting up there with her, along with Kensi who would be screaming her head off. The magic of Christmas must've hit. When it was our turn, Sienna marched up to Santa like it was her best friend. She talked to him and told him she wanted a tablet. After they had their moment I backed Kensi up into Santa's arms and you won't believe this, but she SMILED! The girl who cries for everyone smiled for Santa. Amazing!<br />

It was a great trip and we all had a lot of fun. I was pretty nervous about taking my busy, busy 10 month old on an air plane for 3 hours but even she did great. We did have the screaming baby for a little while on the plane ride home, but eventually she passed out.<br />
<br />
One of my favorite moments was at Downtown Disney. On the main stage a dance line was performing a few dances. Of course Sienna and I had to watch. As soon as I set her down, she put her hands on her hips, started shaking them to the beat, and did her best to imitate the dancers on stage. She didn't stop dancing throughout the whole performance and instantly had a crowd watching her. People even turned around in their seats to see her moves. She ate it all up flashing her "I know I'm cute" smiles. I couldn't stop giggling.<br />

Another month in the books. This month you have started to imitate. You are doing So Big! and said your first 2 words besides Mama and Dada. The first one was, "Uh oh". It's not usually in context yet but so cute. Daddy and Sienna taught you that one. You are also starting to say, "Bye" when you wave goodbye. It sounds more like Buh. :) You started to dance a little and tap a beat on your legs when we play music. I am trying to get you to clap but you refuse! We're also working on teaching your first signs but no success so far. I think it'll come soon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So Big!!</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You wanted nothing to do with laying down for this photo session or sitting still. My busy girl! You continue to crawl and pull up on everything. You seem very content with that and now I think you might save walking for a couple more months (I hope). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
You got 2 more teeth this month on top. And no it wasn't the front 2! You got the ones next to them instead. The front 2 are on their way. I feel like you have been teething for almost the whole month. Poor baby.</div>

<br />
You keep growing. We were at the Dr last week and you were 21.4 lbs with your clothes on. Not sure on height. 18 months clothes fit you very well. You are out eating all the kids at daycare. Bita says at lunch they all race to the table and try to eat quicker than you. You beat them all!<br />

Lots of Halloween parties again this year. Sienna's dance class kicked the week off with the first party. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T0xfxzN-JWY/Un_67A1FtxI/AAAAAAAAIHc/9DI9BLBxbcY/s1600/20131030_173440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T0xfxzN-JWY/Un_67A1FtxI/AAAAAAAAIHc/9DI9BLBxbcY/s320/20131030_173440.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On Halloween, both daycare and preschool had parties for the girls. Sienna was over-sugared and already had one bucket full of candy when I picked her up from school. Kensi also came home with a little bag of goodies. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We trick or treated with our neighbor, Chase, and his family again this year. Sienna was so excited running from house to house, wanting more candy. They were both so cute when they got up to a door all by themselves. Sometimes they were too short to ring the doorbell and other times they'd forget to say trick or treat and say "thank you" while holding out their pumpkins. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Exi0HUfifu0/UnMATH8AVnI/AAAAAAAAIFI/QlhwAmU88s8/s1600/DSC_0707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Exi0HUfifu0/UnMATH8AVnI/AAAAAAAAIFI/QlhwAmU88s8/s320/DSC_0707.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Scary Daddy and his costume. Chase was a bit freaked out.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z68hrtlAXZc/UnMAvTO55WI/AAAAAAAAIFQ/6YX7FnuzqyM/s1600/DSC_0706.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z68hrtlAXZc/UnMAvTO55WI/AAAAAAAAIFQ/6YX7FnuzqyM/s320/DSC_0706.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>

I got to wear the Rapunzel wig.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sw1bfW8TaKQ/UnMAQxOlX4I/AAAAAAAAIFA/2MtmhOC3xco/s1600/DSC_0715.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sw1bfW8TaKQ/UnMAQxOlX4I/AAAAAAAAIFA/2MtmhOC3xco/s320/DSC_0715.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Kensi was a tropper riding in the wagon the whole time.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KPNHac60IyI/UnMAKSaP7MI/AAAAAAAAIE4/7MYrGNrr6OE/s1600/DSC_0714.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KPNHac60IyI/UnMAKSaP7MI/AAAAAAAAIE4/7MYrGNrr6OE/s320/DSC_0714.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The excitement wore her out and she fell asleep on our walk back home.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBG-24kzOh4/UnL_XS3JdMI/AAAAAAAAIEo/XPytbaso2dM/s1600/DSC_0716.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBG-24kzOh4/UnL_XS3JdMI/AAAAAAAAIEo/XPytbaso2dM/s320/DSC_0716.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We continued our tradition of celebrating with the Eids and Moehrings. It was the weekend after Halloween, and for the most part the kids were over it. They had their costumes on for all of 10 minutes. As soon as pictures were taken, they ripped them off. No mouse for this party - Kensi was sick and stayed home with Justin. As much as we missed them, it was nice to just have the older kids who [mostly] played on their own. We had some great adult time!!<br />

I love fall. The cooler weather, football Sundays, snuggling by the fireplace, and most of all the traditions that come with all the holidays. A tradition Justin and I have have always done is carve pumpkins. We switched it up a little this year and let Sienna paint her and Kensi's pumpkins. She was thrilled!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dL45fG-_1KQ/Um3G18uygTI/AAAAAAAAIDU/TewyyuhzhXI/s1600/DSC_0674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dL45fG-_1KQ/Um3G18uygTI/AAAAAAAAIDU/TewyyuhzhXI/s320/DSC_0674.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I let Kensi help for about 1 paint stroke. She watched from her chair for the rest. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qoJ3iYDVpEA/Um3G2aK3kgI/AAAAAAAAIDg/MngZA4TnaJo/s1600/DSC_0676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qoJ3iYDVpEA/Um3G2aK3kgI/AAAAAAAAIDg/MngZA4TnaJo/s320/DSC_0676.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last year Sienna wanted nothing to do with touching the pumpkin guts. This year she got over it and helped scoop some out...for a few minutes in between painting.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PQ4TfwF7H80/Um3G3n2PSdI/AAAAAAAAIDk/WngUe_GE9Og/s1600/DSC_0677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PQ4TfwF7H80/Um3G3n2PSdI/AAAAAAAAIDk/WngUe_GE9Og/s320/DSC_0677.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Justin and I did the actual carving. I did a zombie flower and he did a face with Sienna's traced hands. With the craziness of Halloween night I forget to get a picture of them lite!<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iAhXbNDpy0Y/Um3IGJISgOI/AAAAAAAAID4/aj22vj0b_EA/s1600/DSC_0687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iAhXbNDpy0Y/Um3IGJISgOI/AAAAAAAAID4/aj22vj0b_EA/s320/DSC_0687.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
9 months going on 14...It's been another monumental month. Every since you hit 7 months you have been going, going, going and not looking back. This month you are pulling yourself up on everything. At Bita's you love to walk behind the push car. At home you are up on all furniture and toys. You especially love to stand next to Sienna's chair at the dinner table and watch her eat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Showing off your one handed squats</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Everyone thinks you will be walking before you hit 10. You've taken a few tumbles but nothing more than a head bump. You aren't phased by much and usually just keep going. I am predicting you will be my first child taken to the ER. The only part of the house you stay away from is the stairs. I am hoping that lasts cause we still don't have to gate anything yet! (keyword is yet)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
You got one more tooth this month on the bottom. A few more appear to be on their way soon. Teething bothers you a lot. Not so much with fevers but you get a little runny nose, clingy to Mommy, and have trouble sleeping. No fun for anyone. When you aren't teething you are still such a happy kid. You already play pretty well on your own too, in small spurts. You are most happy when someone will sit close to you while you alternate between paying with toys and climbing all over that person.<br />
<br />
You weren't really having pictures this time. Who can blame you when there are fun door stops in the room?<br />
<br />

<br />
I figured our scale was a little high last month. We got the official Drs measurements for this one:<br />
Weight: 20 lbs 3 oz - 74%<br />
Height: 30 inches - 99%<br />
Head: 18.5 inches - 98%<br />
<br />
They said you are the average size of a 14 month old. Just to compare Sienna was about 18 months when she was 30 inches. Crazy! I can't wait to see when you 2 are the same size.Kristenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16978608920190056560noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745780499071650482.post-91267069060964114502013-10-17T15:00:00.001-05:002013-10-17T15:00:49.178-05:00Apples and Pumpkins<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Fall has been flying by. Rick came up for a quick weekend visit. Lucky for him we got one of the only nice, non-rainy weekends so we headed to Emma Krumbees Apple Orchard and Scarecrow Fest. Sienna had a great time riding the train, finding her way through the rope maze, peddling the tractor trikes through the track, and of course picking out some apples and treats from the store. Kensi tagged along in her stroller but didn't participate in any of the activities. </div>

We still needed to get our pumpkins. Another weekend, between the rain storms, we hightailed it out to a pumpkin patch. It did start to lightly rain on the way there but not enough to keep us from our task. Sienna and Justin braved the rain and picked out everyone's pumpkins. Kensi stayed in the van while I made faces at her. </div>

Kensi,<br />
You amaze me. Less than a week after you turned 7 months you decided to hit every milestone I could think of in one day. You got on all 4's and figured out how to crawl (very slowly but you could get where you wanted to). Then you rolled all the way back to where you started. You ended up on your stomach and pushed yourself back up into a sitting position. If that wasn't enough you did it all while saying "Mama, Mama." It was quite the afternoon. Every day you get faster and faster. I was hoping the wood floors would keep you in the family room but a week later you conquered those too and crawled to me while I was in the kitchen. I could sit and watch you crawl and climb all day. I can see you learning and processing with every movement you make. It's fascinating. This also means you are starting to be trouble. Shoes, cords, curtains, Conner's food/water and toys not meant for babies are no longer safe. You are also starting to pull yourself up. You can easily get to your knees, and a few times you've gotten all the way up. You are going to be walking before I can even blink! Slow down kid!<br />

You got your first 2 teeth and I think a couple more are on the way. You are now wearing 12 month clothes pretty exclusively. I weighted you on our scale and it said you are 21 lbs! I know you sure feel heavier in my arms. We'll get some official measurements at the Dr next month.<br />
