Garage Sale Treasures

I was reminded that I forgot to put up all of our great garage sale finds, so here they are...

You will note that all of the large items were purchase by Papa Rick. :)

In the first picture, the big blue tub is full of the largest Legos you have ever seen. The bike on top of the tub was also a purchased as was the Hummer behind it. (The rest is just junk in our garage.) We also got a kitchen set, work bench, laugh and learn home, outside swing, Creative Memories cutter and ovals, and 2 strollers. We bought the red one on the first day. It's a Chicco, pretty nice. Then the next day I found a Maclaren which is exactly what I wanted. So now we have both. I also got some clothes and smaller toys but those are all disbursed throughout the house.

Sienna's practicing for the day that she can drive her Hummer.

Lots of great stuff. Definitely a successful year!!

New Toy

We decided it was time to invest in a video camera to get this fun girl on camera before she out grows all her fun baby times. Testing it all out right now. Here's a short one of her smiling and playing. Hope this works!!

Warning! Don't walk by the clearance racks...

Sales are dangerous. Sales on little baby girl clothes are even more dangerous. I was at Macy's the other day and saw they had a big clearance on some of their baby clothes. Of course I had to just "look". While looking I came upon this dress: a little hard to tell but it's navy corduroy. So cute, my future ballerina had to have it.

Digging further into the racks I saw these 2:

Of course I had a Macy's gift card sitting at home that was for Sienna. I didn't buy anything that day but I kept thinking about that dress. 2 days later I was going past Macy's, with the gift card in my purse just in case we got close to one. Went back and they had all 3 items plus a few more that I picked up. Even better was when I went to check out the sales woman had an extra 20% off our total and gave it to me to use. I love sales!!!

Shopping Day

Nothing better than purse shopping with the girls! Wish I had a picture of the purses Cran and Kate got. All different styles but same color theme.

Already spoiling

Justin and I have been really good about not buying unnecessary things for Baby Girl. It's hard not to get suckered into all the cute baby things out there! We've stuck with all the basics and I figured I'd get a lot of the cutesy stuff at showers. Which I did too! However last week on the same day we both came home and said we bought something online for her. We must've been on the same page. Can you guess who bought which?

I've been eying that hat for months now and thought it was time to splurge. It'll be perfect for pictures. I'm sure she'll hate every minute she has to wear it. :) Justin is already trying to make her into a Jets fan. I asked where her Vikings shirt was but didn't get a very nice response. That might have to be my next purchase!

Garage Sale Goodies

Last Friday was the annual Woodbury garage sales. Every year that I'm able to, I go out with Mom & Cari. We all get beyond excited for it. I usually don't even find much but I still love looking for the bargains. This year I did very well. I was mostly looking for baby things and crafting stuff. In the back of my head was also a snow blower and sturdy wooden table for the basement craft room but I didn't have high hopes of finding either. Goes to show you just never know! Come early afternoon Ron found a hardly used Northstar snowblower. I knew Justin wanted a big one and that was about it. From that description it fit. Ron called him up with the specs, negotiated with the guy and next thing I know they were loading it into my truck as I was writing a check. Sweet!!!

We can finally put away the shovels and rest our backs next year.

My favorite find of the day was the bouncy seat I had on my registry. This one was is great condition and we negotiated it down to $10!! Such a steal

Otherwise I got a bunch of board books, few toys, a yoga mat carrier (brand new!) and a stamp set.

All in all a success! Makes me want to go find more sales...

GOT!

Remember how much I wanted this??

Well I got the Barnes & Noble version of it...The Nook! I'm so excited. Can't wait to download some books. It'll be great for on the bus and especially for traveling to AZ and Dallas this spring!

Of course once I had it the first thing I did was buy a few accessories. Had to get a case.

And then I just couldn't resist this cute bag. It's big enough to fit the Nook inside the above case.

Hunting Weekend

Hunting is always one of my favorite weekends of the year. Not that I don't love my husband dearly but it's always nice to have a weekend full of girl time. All I can say is thank god Justin got a job because lots of money was spent including but not limited to: Stampin Up products, clothes, Bath & Body soaps/lotions, X-mas presents (an early start!), purse, and of course meals! Yesterday Cari, Mom and started the day off at The Original Pancake House (our fav for breakfast) and we continued onto Albertville. Lots of great sales but my best purchase of the day was a pair of Lucky Jeans. I have been in love with this brand since college and the whole store was price at $50 a pair. Such a steal!

Sunday the 3 of us added Grammy into the mix and went to The Affair at the convention center. If you remember last year I had a post about the Chocolate Extravaganza. I learned that this event was bought buy a woman who turned it into The Affair. Not as much chocolate this year but still many sweet and savory items to sample. Plus I found my favorite buy of the weekend:

This woman out of Iowa started the company, Bagolitas, after she had bought a fabric to recover some chairs but her husband ended up hating it. Since she couldn't return it she made it into a bag. She got so many compliments she started selling them and it took off from there. Anyways lots of cute stuff. Big thanks to Anne for giving me a free ticket to the event. I'm not sure it would've been worth the $30 to get in but for free it sure was!

Loads of Love

Ever since we moved into this house, I have hated our washing machine. Our laundry room is on the main floor of our house and when the washer would run the spin cycle it would get so loud it was hard to have a conversation over it. We have been saying for years that we wanted to upgrade and get front loaders. Finally the time came! We searched high and low for the perfect set. We decided on a Samsung model with the steam feature (good for sanitizing and fluffing stuff up in the dryer). We went and placed our order at Lowes and wouldn't you know it, she had sold the last set earlier that day. Figuring we had waited 4 years for this, I was [kinda] ok with another couple of weeks. The wait was worth it. I have never been more excited to do laundry...and have never had so much to do! We sold our old washer and dryer right after ordering the new ones so the laundry has been stacking up. Plus I also had to wash all the blankets and comforters that I could find to test out the new steam features. Next on the list is pillows! Is it wrong to be so in love with laundry??

Here are my new beauties.

Dryer

Now before you all ask, no I won't do your laundry if you bring it over but you are welcome to come and test it for yourself! :)

Fun Find

We went to the Prior Lake Farmers Market on Saturday and found this fun addition to our house. As soon as we saw it we knew it'd go perfectly in our kitchen. It's a handmade wine rack/candle holder made out of black metal. The price was right so we swept it off the market before any other buyers came along. Now we just need 3 candles to go on top and we'll be set. I love unexpected finds!

Randi the Ridgeline

Luck finally worked in our favor. We have been searching nearly all the dealerships in the Twin Cities area that had 2006 Honda Ridgelines with no success. Last night a new one was released in the Mankato area that was fully pimped out - leather, moonroof, navigation, backup camera, iPod adapter and many more. Justin went and checked it out today. I gave him the ok to buy as long as he thought I'd approve. 4.5 hours later we are the new owners!

WANT

Don't you think I need that for my South Carolina trip? It's the Kindle for anyone who is unfamiliar. The greatest and latest technology in books/reading. Download books to read or get a magazine subscription delivered to it. So great. Someday I will have one, someday...

Mission Complete

I did it! I finally found what I was looking for. Albertville never seems to fail me. I was hoping for something with a little more color but at least it's not solid and paired with a bright tank it'll work just fine. SC here I come!

On a Mission

I'm trying to find some cute clothes to wear in South Carolina. I've heard they dress up a little more down there, so I thought a sun dress or some fun skirts would be perfect. I found a cute sundress but am having a hard time with the skirts. I have in my head exactly what I want, but I can't find it anywhere!!! It's about mid-thigh to a few inches above the knees in length. It's not high waisted. Has a ruffled edge to allow it to flow. And it has a fun summer pattern/colors. Something like these.

For the life of me I can't find this skirt!!! I've scoured Burnsville Mall AND Southdale. I even went so low as going to Delia's. Remember that place? Back when I was a teen it used to only be a catalogue. As soon as I stepped in there I immediately regretted it. I was double to triple the age of everyone in the store. As the 16 year old sales clerk explained all of their specials for that day, I fought every urge to turn and run out. After a quick loop around the store (no skirts), I hung my head in shame and left. At the other stores, all the skirts I found went up miles past my belly button, touch my knee or below, had hips that I can't come near to filling out, or were cute but $100+. No thanks!!

This weekend I am headed to Alberville. They have the only Petite Sophisticate around so I am hoping I can find something. Wish me luck. I'll report back soon...
