Family Visitors

Since Justin and I both have a lot of out of town family members, the past month has been filled with many different visitors all wanting to meet Sienna. I'm happy to say I think everyone has gotten to see her now. At least the immediate family. We'll have to start working on the extended family.

Grandpa Rick and Leona were our first weekend guests when Sienna was hardly 2 weeks. (She's so little!!)


Great-Grandmas Regina & Ruby were also in town that same weekend.


My Dad and step-mom, Deb, came up from Dallas.


Justin's Mom, Sister, Brother-in-law, and their 2 kids all came up from WI this past weekend.

1 month

Happy 1 month birthday little girl!! I can't believe she's 1 month old already. It's gone so quick. At 1 month old she's just starting to smile at us and coo more. You can tell her eyes will focus on you and follow objects for a little bit. She's about 10 lbs now. She definitely has opinions on what time of day she likes and when she's not happy she will let you know! She's outgrown almost all of her newborn clothes and is wearing 0-3 months, most of which are pretty big on her.

I'm not very good at getting the right angles on taking her picture yet. Hopefully by the 2 month pics they will have improved. We tried a few different outfits. Note for next time - have someone else making faces at her to get her to look in the right direction. I can't multi-task that well.

She stuck her tongue out for every single pic I took in this outfit and no she wasn't hungry. I had just fed her. :)


This outfit did not start out well. I was thinking it might've been the headband again.


No headband, a little happier. Couldn't get a smile though.

Baby announcements are out! Justin and I did our own photo shoot when she was about 2 weeks old instead of hiring someone to do it for us. I think they turned out pretty darn cute! Here's some of the outtakes...

Baby Game

I never posted the winners of our baby game. My mom and dad were the closest in date with Aug 20th and they also both guessed a girl. My mom was closer in size with guessing 7 lbs 12 ozs and 21 inches. My dad was closer with the time saying 2:00 pm and still close with size at 7 lbs 14 ozs and 19 inches. I'd say it's a toss up between the 2, so you are both winners. And sorry there is no prize just bragging rights. :)

Play Date

I feel like this is turning into a baby blog, but my life doesn't really consist of much else exciting at the moment. So I guess that's what you all get to hear about! At least I don't tell my tales of daily spit up and poo... :)

Anyways Sienna has her first play date yesterday with Abbie - Jeff and Jenny's daughter. Abbie was born 12 days before Sienna. Even though they are forever forced friends they already seem to like each other and played well together. It was pretty cool to see how they were both so content laying next to each other and would look at each other.

I was over at my mom's this past weekend and we were looking through a scrapbook she had made for me of when I was born through the first year. I was amazed at some of my baby pictures to see how much Sienna looked just like me! There are a couple of faces that we both make/made. Of course if I tried to capture one of those it would take about 500 tries to get it... Hopefully one day I will be lucky and get one.

Here's a photo of me as a baby - making one of our similar faces. This was taken March 15, 1980 so I was 16 days old.


Here's Sienna in the same outfit as me above. She is 20 days old, so pretty close in age.




I tried to add a cute headband but she was not having it at all.

Garden

I haven't done any garden posts this summer. You could say with me being pregnant and the 90 plus days of heat and humidity, our garden got a bit neglected. Justin did his best to keep up but it still needed some TLC. We lost a lot of plants I think from too much rain too. Here's the latest crop, minus that bag of potatoes. There's also a big bowl of edamame in the fridge. Can't wait to try that!

Little Things

My days are now considered a success by small accomplishments. Today's was our first Target run. Sienna did great and slept the whole time. Even better was no one tried to touch her. Success!!
