Where did July go??

Clearly this month has been busy because I haven't blogged at all! Get ready for a long one...

We had a wonderful 4th of July BBQ hosted by the Moehrings. I forgot my camera that day so I only got one pic with my phone!!

We had a long fun weekend filled with family fun outings. We went back to the Lorence Berry Farm to pick strawberries. Same one that we visited last year. Sienna again ate more than she actually picked for the basket, but that's the fun of going. They were so delish.

We spent our annual weekend at the Eids cabin. The weather was perfect and many upgrades to the cabin made it a very fun weekend. I won't quite say relaxing but us 4 adults spent a lot of time dreaming and planning the 10 year anniversary trip we are taking next spring - without the kids!

My sister had her baby boy!! Christopher Steelman Park. Such a cutie and so fun to have a boy in that side of the family. He was 20 inches long and 7 lbs 15 oz.

The rest of our days have been enjoying the sun. Sienna's been hanging out with her neighbor buddy, Chase, quite a bit.

Kensi's still loving the exersaucer.

Justin and I even got out for a date night with his work and enjoyed a dinner cruise on the river.

6 Months

Kensi,
You are becoming so fun and interactive with us. I love hearing your chatter (sort of screaming but it's really the only way to be heard with your sister around) and seeing your big smiles. You've hit some big milestones this month. Right after you turned 5 months you started rolling over from back to tummy. Unfortunately, you've forgotten how to go back and get stuck often. This is really only an issue in your crib because you don't like to sleep on your tummy either - still loving the side sleeping (so darn cute). Most of the time you are quite content to be playing and spinning around on your tummy. You have also really improved in your sitting skills. You are very close to being stable. I would guess in the next couple weeks you will have it down.

Current favorites

  • Any time your sister pays attention to you, you are full of smiles. You especially love it when she sings.
  • Mommy!! Still a big Mama's girl. We're working on making you like other people...
  • Guacamole is your favorite food. You must love garlic like your Nana.
  • Dancing, jiggling, flying in the air. You love moving!
  • Tickles and kisses from Daddy always get big giggles out of you.

My tall and lean girl. I had to check Sienna's stats when she was a baby and you are currently as tall as she was when she was 1 year old! We got the Dr's official measurements.
Height: 28 inches (99%)
Weight: 16 lbs 13 ozs (70%)
Head: 17.8 inches (98%)

My Dancing Queen

Before picture day.

Sienna,
I always dreamed of having a little girl who loved dance as much as I did. When I enrolled you in class last fall, I was hoping I wasn't pushing you into my passion. Lucky for me you seem to love it more than I could have ever imagined. Last week you had your first recital. I can't even tell you how proud I was of you when you got on that stage. Everyday since, you have asked when we can do it again and when you can go back to dance class. You felt so beautiful in your Belle dress and clearly loved it!

As we made the long walk from the dressing room to the stage, you walked on your tip-toes the whole time, holding your dress out like a princess. When we stood backstage watching the other girls dance before yours, you were in awe and kept [a little too loudly] exclaiming how beautiful they were. I had no idea how you would be on stage. When it was your turn, you went without hesitation and did your dance so well. Near the end of the dance you turned to me and asked "Where's Daddy?!?" Luckily, I was able to refocus you and finish the dance. After, we met up with Nana, Grandpa, Daddy, Grammy, Kristie, Mallory and Mikayla. Everyone was so proud of you!

The night was complete with hitting up Cherry Berry.

They only allowed recording on rehearsal night. Unfortunately the sound wasn't working yet in the theater, so the music is hard to hear. At once point you yelled out to the audience, "Daddy take a picture of me!" You can't really hear it, but will hear the audience laugh after. Crank up your speakers!
