She's here!

I'm guessing everyone has heard by now but we had our baby girl, Sienna Eve Jovle!! We went in Monday eve to start the induction process and she was born on Tuesday the 24th at 12:14 in the afternoon. She weighted 7 lbs 2 oz and was 19 inches long (19.5 if you count the cone head). Here's a couple pics from the past days.

Our first meeting.

Getting measured.

Sleeping after her bath.

Wearing the family parachute. Sienna in her first jumper outfit from Auntie Cari.

Happy Dad.

She sure does keep us busy! Everything is going well though. Labor went better and was much shorter than I hoped. Feeding is going great too. I either had really low expectations or she's a rock-star!! Maybe both. :) We are heading home from the hospital sometime this morning. I am very ready to get out of here although quite terrified of what we will do with her at home. hehe. Wish us luck!

The Waiting Game

Well here we are. 40 weeks and 4 day pregnant. The ticker at the top of my blog thinks I should be done, as do I, but this little girl has different ideas. And so we wait. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and she showed a tiny bit of progress but not enough to do anything yet. On Saturday (my 41 week mark) we have an appointment at Abbott to run some tests on the baby and make sure she's still doing ok in there. They will also check to see if I am any further along and we'll make a plan from them. Sounds like probably induction at the beginning of next week if nothing happens before then. I wish I had more to report or something exciting that's been happening but my life is pretty much just a waiting game right now. Trying to keep myself occupied in the meantime. Send good thoughts of labor this way!

Couples Shower

My Dad was up here visiting last weekend for his 50th high school reunion. Since he doesn't come back very often my aunt thought it'd be fun to have a party with some of the other Rost relatives and also make that into a couples baby shower.

The parachute - a gown that my great grandma (Mom's side) made and has been handed down to all generations and passed around throughout the family. It's meant to be worn while you are in the hospital recovering after your baby is born. My grandma and mom also wore it along with a handful of other cousins who live in NYC. Once you pass it on to the next person, you are supposed to put a fresh ribbon in the collar. My turn to uses it should be here soon!

Watching the gift opening.

Shout out to my cousin Jim, who took all of these photos, and his wife Jen.

Thanks to all who came to the shower. We had a great time seeing everyone!

Better the umbrella than the baby!

Took a little spill on my way into work today. It was raining hard and the wind was really strong. I think I forgot how out of wack my balance is and was leaning too far forward. Next thing I know I'm on the ground. Luckily my knee and umbrella took the brunt of the fall.

No worries baby is doing well and has lots of movement since. Maybe this will induce some labor??

Mikayla Turns 1

Happy Birthday Mikayla!

Her actual birthday was last week but Justin & I had the honor of attending her party over the weekend. Here's some pics of the cutie at her party.

The birthday girl all dolled up in her dress.

Watching her video while opening her presents.

The whole fam playing with the new presents.

She was not too sure of this cake thing. She had more fun smashing it and flinging it all over the floor than actually eating it. It gave us all quite a few laughs. I wish I had a better picture of all the flying chunks of cake.

Grandma's Gifts

My mom is already doing a great job as the spoiling Grandma. When she said she wanted to get together for one last mother/daughter night out I didn't think anything of it. As we set up our date, she told me our plans had changed and that Sue & Jenny were going to join us along with Sue's friend and her daughter. All 3 of us daughters are due in Aug. I thought it was a little strange inviting a women that I'd never met for our special night out, but I went with it and still thought nothing of it. Turns out the 3 Grandma's-to-be had a little surprise up their sleeves! Apparently for the past few months they were all getting together making each of us a quilted bear play mat/blanket and the dinner was an excuse to give each of us the special gifts.

So cute and special. I can't wait to see my little girl laying on the blanket playing. Thanks Mom!!

Carpet!!

Here's the latest pics from the carpet being installed last week. Justin got the bedroom all trimmed and ready to use. Right on time too as his dad came into town last night and got to be the first to test it out. Since the bedroom and bathroom are complete we can officially do the rest at our leisure. Woo hooo I get my husband back!!! Looks great too!

38 Weeks

Belly update!

2 weeks left. I can't believe it! As much as I am sooooo ready to be done, the actual thought of holding my little girl in my arms is still unreal to me. Probably won't be until I'm actually doing it.

Baby facts for the week:
She's officially full term and could come at any time.
Dr estimated her to be in the 6-7 lb range right now.
I have made no progress towards her coming out.
Dr also said I will probably go late - no updating your baby pool entries!!

Stay tuned for the latest. No idea how quickly I can get a blog post up once she's here. I'm sure Justin will be sending texts/emails/FB updates as soon as I give him the ok.
