That was just in 1 day. A few weeks go I also got a $10 gift card to Express and Victoria's Secret with no minimum purchase and a $5 gift card to DSW. Love it!! Bring on this getting older stuff.

Mortified

I am still a little embarrassed about this but it made a great blog moment so I had to post...

Justin took me to Lifetime yesterday to sit in the hot tub with him. We've never tried using his guest pass before so I had never been to this Lifetime. As we're driving there he was telling me how clean the locker rooms are and how nice everything is. He gave me a quick tour of the place and we parted ways at the separate locker rooms. I walk in and the first thing I think is, wow this is really small compared to the U! There was one long row of lockers and then another smaller row perpendicular to the first. There were a couple other women and some kids in there but overall it was pretty empty. I pick my locker and start to change into my swimsuit. As I'm changing I get this really weird stare from one of the girls in there. I didn't think too much of it, just that kids sometimes stare and chalked it up to that. The other weird thing I noticed was the floor was really dirty. Water everywhere and lots of clumps of hair. Yuck. Hair is my pet peeve and started making mental notes to tell Justin how wrong he was about the cleanliness. As I finished changing and started to search for the pool door I see a man walk in the locker room with his kids. I almost died!!! I found the pool door and darted out of there. Apparently I had gone into the family locker room where people change their kids...not themselves. Oops! Could you imagine what would've happened if I had been mid-swim suit change and that guy walked in? No wonder that girl was giving me weird looks. Needless to say after hot tubbing I grabbed my clothes out of the locker, did a small walk of shame, and found the women's locker room.

Concert Review

Leather pants, mullets, she-mullets, Hardly Davidson shirts, men with hair down to their butt, big permed fros, ripped jeans. Are we back in the 80s? Nope it's the Motley Crue concert!! This whole night was just one big blog moment. Overall the concert was ok. Hinder rocked and was my favorite. Theory of a Deadman was alright and the Crue was good if you like that 80s hairband music which I determined is not my favorite. I am all for loud rock but I think some NIN or Linkin Park is more up my alley. I didn't help that I only knew 3 songs and 1 was because it's on my Guitar Hero.

My observations: Vince Neil sings like a woman and he looks really old! Poor Mick Mars can hardly walk in his tall shoes anymore. He was all hunched over and slowly chugging along on and off the stage. Tommy Lee was still looking good from row 25 at least... Still the show was very entertaining from all the lights/pyrotechnics to the S&M, girl on girl porn on the video screen, to all of the crazy looking fans rocking out. I tried to capture some good hair shots...

There are many pink streaks which are hard to see.

A good poof.

She had some fun clips but they were on the other side...

Maybe my favorite part of the night:

When in doubt if you like the music get a big ass ice cream cone. Makes everything more enjoyable. :) Thanks Ang for taking us!!!

Home Improvements

I've been meaning to blog this for awhile... About a month ago Justin replaced our kitchen garbage can with this great drawer system thing. For anyone who hasn't been to my house it used to be against the wall between the kitchen and dinette. It was chrome and the kind you step on that pops the lid open. Not horrible but definitely an eyesore AND as soon as Conner was tall enough he learned how to flip the lid open with his nose. We were constantly yelling at him to stay out. Annoying. Plus we stacked our recyclables on the counter until it bugged one of us enough to take them out. More annoying. So we were both super excited to finally find a place in our kitchen to do this! Every time I throw something away I appreciate it that much more. I love little home improvement projects!!

The cabinet drawer pulled out.

Sunrise

What a beautiful way to start a Monday morning; not to mention how great traffic was since no one else is working today. :P Yes taking a picture while driving is perfectly safe, although it does the make the pics a little blurry. You get the idea...

Defeated

I had to do a followup post from my puzzle cry for help. After 2 months of working and still hardly being over halfway, I have admitted defeat. Justin heavily hinted how nice it would be to eat our Valentine's dinner on the kitchen table and I caved. I thought it was going to really pain me to take it apart and put it back in the box, but I was surprisingly ok with it. A couple weeks ago my mom came over to help me and she kept saying if it was her, she'd put it back in the box and forget about it. She's really good at puzzles too so I think that planted the seed in my head and it has grown ever since. Zoey is going to miss it more than me. Every time I worked on it, she would come and lay in the box to keep me company. Such a sweetie giving her mom encouragement. :)

Anyways if anyone wants their try at a super hard puzzle you are welcome to borrow it!

Feeling the love

I was sitting quietly at my desk this morning contemplating if I should start work when I see a smiling head walking towards my cube. (literally the head is the only thing I can see over the cube walls. Even if they are short walls, I am still shorter) It's not too often that we get visitors back in my area especially before 8:30 am so I was very suspicious. Before I can fully comprehend what was going on I was handed a Valentine. My first valentine in years besides ones from my mom, which as sweet as they are, don't really count. I was so surprised and it instantly put a smile on my face. Thanks Caley for making my day!!

On another note I had to bust out the pink vest today in honor of Valentines Day. Gets me in the festive mood. We have our building Valentine's party at work this afternoon. I think it's the best party that the building puts on for us. We get these wonderful sugar cookies in the shape of hearts and then there's a slew of toppings you can choose from to make your own sugary delight. 2:00 can't come soon enough!!

Happy Valentine's day!!

MMMMMMM Foood.

Is it wrong to be obsessed with food? Cause I think I am. All morning long I think about lunch and then all afternoon I think about dinner. After dinner I think about if I should have a late night snack. Even to the point of discussing it with multiple friends and wanting to hear about what they have eaten/are eating. Anyways to continue along with that thought the Restaurant Week has posted their menu's!! Wooo Hooo! Now I can obsessively look and evaluate each one to pick the best. I feel a spreadsheet coming on!! No Mocking, you know you want to too.

What a guy!

My hubby after entertaining a 3 year old all day...

He claims it's from getting up early that morning but I think Mallory wore him out. :) Cran and Mallory came over on Sat and Justin was so nice to offer to watch Mal for the day while Cran and I went out to breakfast and made wontons. Thanks babes, you're the best!

The life of a dog

Every morning when I get out of the shower this is what I see:

Conner, do you really have it so rough that you need to sleep on Mom's pillow? I thought dogs were supposed to like the floor. :P

25 Random Things

I keep getting tagged on facebook to list my 25 random things. I thought it'd be fun to put them on my blog for all non-facebookers. Here they are in no particular order.

1. I like my job but love my coworkers and all the perks way more.

2. I minored in math but have a hard time doing simple calculations without a calculator.

3. I am a horrible speller.

4. I love how my husband makes me laugh every time I try and get really mad at him.

5. Once I start something I can't stop until I finish it (books, movies, puzzles, etc).

6. I hate being cold but I always am and am waiting for the day that someone invents a nose warmer.

7. I hate being hot even worse. Really bad heat and humidity makes me feel like I can't breath and I get dizzy.

8. I love stalking people through blogs, facebook and such.

9. I have never puked from drinking too much.

10. I love playing video games either on my computer, PSII, or Wii. I used to even buy a monthly subscription to download unlimited games from this website but I played all good ones so I dropped it.

11. I do secret shops at restaurants and some retails stores.

12. I love being nerdy and getting made fun of for it.

13. I danced for 23 years and I really really miss it.

14. My step sister and I are only 5 months apart. All growing up we got asked if we were twins.

15. I hate talking about politics

16. I love entertaining and having people over to my house. Usually this includes some form of red wine and/or really bad for you food which I love equally as much.

17. I am terrified of being pregnant and losing control of my body.

18. At most restaurants I have to brush all the salt off my fries before I eat them.

19. I taught dance for 1 year and didn't like it. Loved the kids but hated coming up with choreography.

20. I always thought by the time I turned 30 I would have my life all figured out. Turns out now I don't think that will ever happen.

21. My mom and I talk on the phone at least once a day.

22. I once locked my cat in the fridge for a couple hours. oops!

23. I can't be at home for too many days/nights in a row or I get really antsy unless it's the middle of the winter and then I never want to leave.

24. I did a magic show my for family ONCE when I was a kid and somehow my husband watched the video of it. I have never heard the end of it since.

25. I'm not really a sappy person but I have to say I am so lucky to have so many wonderful and supportive family/friends/neighbors/coworkers/husband/pets in my life. They make every day worth living. Love to all of you!

Potato Head

One of my favorite movies of all times is Toy Story and my favorite character in there is Mr. Potato Head. All of his lines and actions are soo funny to me. You can imagine how pleased I was to see a super bowl commercial with Mr. Potato Head in it! I'm sure you have probably all seen it but here is it again for 1 more laugh.

Another Fab weekend.

If I never ever hear the song Put a ring on by Beyonce, it will be too soon. I don't even know how many times we played it last night but it is embedded into my head and I can't get it out!! Someone start singing Scotty Doesn't Know. It's my only help. Had a really fun night with the neighbors celebrating Steve's 40th Bday. Got a little crazier that I thought it was going to. Lori insisted Steve needed to do shots and it was all downhill from there.

Lori, Rocky, & Brian

Kristen & Steve

Justin & I

Friday Night was also just as fun. We went to Katie & Paul's house for a wine & cheese party. Each person brought a bottle of wine and Katie picked out a complimentary cheese. So fun to sample the different types. And of course another competitive game of Charades emerged at the end of the night. Maggie and I proved that we still kick butt. :)

Aaron, Justin, Paul, Jeff

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my fabulous weekend!
