Happy Halloween!!

The Halloween celebrations keep continuing. Sienna really got into this holiday. Once she figured out she could dress up as Minnie Mouse AND get candy, she was pumped. Every time we'd tell her what was coming up she'd say, "I so exciting!!!" (meaning excited). Long post but we had a lot of events!

The weekend started with costume day at dance class. Sienna and her buddy Sophia.

We carved pumpkins this year. Sienna really dislikes being messy so it was no surprise that after one handful of guts she said she was done and held the pumpkin for me while I scooped it all out. She had more fun designing a silly face with Daddy and watching him carve it.

Pumpkins - Mickey Face, Silly Face, Scary Face

We also made pumpkin cupcakes for the Halloween party we were attending. Yes, she ate as many sprinkles as she put on top.

We had our annual Halloween Party with the Eids and Moehrings. The Moehrings' just moved into a new house and had the honor of hosting us this year.

Minnie Mouse soooo excited for the party!!

And finally actual Halloween came. Daycare had their party.

Chase, Sienna, Maddie, Mason, Bennett
Grayson, Silvie

Mom & Ron came to join us for the evening. We started it off with dinner and Grandpa gave Sienna a glowing magic wand to help lead her way trick or treating. She practiced her abracadabra's and turning people either into a frog or princess.

Next door neighbor buddy, Chase and family joined Sienna for trick or treating.

They lasted much longer than we thought and kept saying, "More Houses!!!"

After trick or treating. Suckers are still her favorite.

Halloween Begins

We had our first of many Halloween celebrations last weekend. Jeff & Jenny invited us to a Half Haunted Halloween party at the Richfield Nature Center. It was supposed to be a non-scary event with treat-or-treating, face painting, a dance, magic show, cookies, and hot chocolate. And it was just that! Our little 2 year old might disagree about the non-scary party though. Most of the treat-or-treat stations had people dressed up as dinosaurs or some other wildlife type costume. She was a bit unsure of most of them.

Minnie posing before we entered.

Abbie (owl), Sienna (Minnie), Mallory (cat), Mikayla (elephant), & Ariana (owl) at the first stop.

Sienna spent many of the stations like this.

Ariana had no problem grabbing a sucker.

Abbie walking the balance beam.

Mallory, Sienna, & Abbie putting together bone puzzles.

Chatter

I wish I could write down or video every single thing that comes out of this little girls mouth. I'd love to know where she gets this stuff. Here's a couple of my recent favorites.

As I'm telling her [nicely] what to do or not do...
Sienna: "Mama. Don't yell at me."
Me: "I'm not yelling. I'm talking"
Sienna: "Oooooooh" [in a very surprised voice]

Sienna grabs her guitar and looks at me...
Sienna: "Are you ready to rock?!"
Me: Giggles, "Yes"
Sienna: "Play your peeno! [piano]"

We were getting ready to go to daycare this morning...
Me: "I'm going to miss you today"
Sienna: Stops walking and faces me very seriously. "Mama, don't be sad."

Her favorite reply to anything you ask her to do is, "Not yet!"

She absolutely adores my belly. Whenever she is playing with her kitchen or food she runs over to me with the milk carton/cup/pitcher/pretend cup and says, "Baby, here's your milk!"

Dance Class

It was family visit day last week at dance class, so Justin came to watch. Sienna was ecstatic to have both Mom & Dad at class. Here's a few clips from it.

Justin's Birthday

Justin turned another year older. His birthday was on Sunday but we did part of our celebrating at dinner Saturday night.

Birthday boy and his little girl before dinner.

Sienna had more interested in cuddling and hugging the baby than taking a picture with me.

Dinner at the Roasted Pear.

Sunday we had a lazy morning and then headed to Minnetonka Apple Orchards. We had a coupon deal for this place and it turned out great. They had tons of fun kid things to do - hay rides, corn maze, face painting, tractor rides, petting zoo, wooden train to climb on, apple doughnuts & cider, lunch, apple picking, etc. I would definitely go back. It was a chilly windy day, so we bundled up. The sun helped warm us up.

Showing her fake smile.

I think the ears give her some extra height.

Cute face painting.

Posing with the pumpkins.

We came home from the orchard exhausted and all took naps. Finished the day with a chili dinner, pumpkin cupcakes and presents. Happy Birthday Babes!!

Baby J 2's Room...beginning

I keep getting asked what Baby Girl's room looks like so I thought I'd post the start of it. We kept the paint that was in there cause I really like the colors. This past weekend we finalized the pictures. There's still a long list of things to get, but it's a start!

The changing table - needs some bins and the actual changing pad.

Dresser - I want a new lamp & clock/radio.

Bookcase - Needs the toys off the top and a few stuffed animals or decorations.

I think we're going to put her name over the crib, which no, we have yet to pick one. The list has started but it's a long process. :)

Not pictured is the window next to the crib. It needs new blinds and curtains or a valence. I'm thinking yellow to match the crib skirt. That's it so far! All the important stuff is ready in case she makes a [very] early appearance.

Family Pictures

I'm still trying to avoid getting professional pictures taken this year, which also means I'm trying to learn Photoshop for picture editing. Still need some work there! This past weekend we had Cran help us take some family photos. I was surprised how many leaves had already turned colors! Here's a couple of my favorites without any editing. Some cropping, color enhancing, and some other fancy tools will help but I'm still pleased with how they turned out.

The rest of the weekend was busy.We tried to get out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. I figured it was probably one of the last warm ones we'll have this season. We picked the other apple tree at my parents house Friday night before we celebrated Justin's birthday. Justin and Sienna had a father-daughter day packed full of shopping, visiting friends, parks and a trip to the pool. Meanwhile, I got to enjoy a full day of scrapbooking with Cari & Vicki. It was awesome and we got so much done! I got a great start on Baby #2s first year album. Between football games on Sunday we took our pictures and hit up a park. Another fun weekend!
