4 Months

Kensi,
I can't believe how fast the time is flying. You keep growing and hitting milestones before I can blink. It's like having a new baby every week. You are such a joy to be around. Everyone eats up your big smiles. Your head has gotten very strong and you are trying to sit-up on your own. When I put you in a sitting position, you fall forward, but when you are on your back you try to do a crunch to sit up. You love to watch everything and everyone around you. You are chatting even more than before and even started saying "Dada Dada" in your babbling. You blow bubbles all the time and are making some raspberry type sounds. You giggle, but not very often and you haven't rolled over after those few first times. You are very wiggly and can get yourself sideways from where you started. You are also VERY drooly. We are going through multiple bibs daily. No signs of teeth yet, so I think you are just a drooly kid. You've gotten very good at putting everything in your mouth, especially your hands. Your new favorite thing in life is your feet. On your back, you love grabbing them and doing the "happy baby" yoga pose. It's so cute - I just love it. I think you are going to be a flexible kid.

You had your first ear infection this month. Not very fun for any of us. It didn't seem to bother you until it got really bad. You had one evening of non-stop screaming. Before and after it you were fine. Since you got it so young, I hope it's not a sign of many more to come.

We got the official measurements from the Dr this time. - Your weight must've been off last time (I had it at 15 lbs). You are so tall. Off the charts. Clearly you did not get this from your mom!
Weight: 14 lbs 15 oz - 79%
Height: 27 inches - 99%
Head: 17 inches - 94%

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was another great one. We started out the day relaxing by having doughnuts and coffee in bed - not sure who enjoyed it more between Sienna and I. I love lazy mornings with all of my favorite people, especially when I get to not feel guilty about it. The girls (with Daddy's help) made me an awesome gift this year. It's a stepping stone with their hand prints, the year, and glass chips spelling out "Mom" and the shape of a heart. I can't wait to add it to our landscape and hope I continue to get more as they grow.

For dinner, we had the rest of my family over and tried to get some good family pictures. Why is it so hard to get everyone to look at the camera! And what did we do before digital pictures? Sienna insisted on wearing her sparkly dress and shoes for the party.

Sienna-isms

My favorite things that are coming out of Sienna's mouth this week:

I made a batch of Crystal Light last weekend and Sienna had to try it. Now everyday after work she asks if she can have some "Nemonade". Not to be confused with "Nemon Ms" (M&Ms)

She has finally found a love for flip flops. She calls them her "Flop Shoes." And has to wear them everywhere.

Spring came and went

Finally the first nice weekend of the year came! Last weekend was the first time we've had 70+ temps since last fall. We tried to enjoy every moment outside. We ate as many meals on the deck as we could, dusted off all of the outdoor toys, played with neighbors, and enjoyed the sunshine. I was worried what Kensi would think of being outside. Last time we tried she was not a fan of the wind - although it was quite a bit colder. Luckily she loved every second of it. We brought out her fishy seat (minus the fishys) and she took in everything.

For the 2 seconds she sat on it, Sienna had to make sure her chair was right next to Kensi's.

Showing Mom how she "rides" her new Strider bike.

In other news, Kensi had a big week! She hit a few fun milestones. She started really giggling. Bita says she does it at daycare all the time with the kids. Last week was the first time Justin and I got to hear it. Of course it was Sienna that got her to do it, not boring Mom or Dad. It was so cute to see them interacting. Last night she rolled over from her tummy to back. Hoping to catch it on video soon! We also tried out the exersaucer and it was a hit.

Sienna hasn't hit any milestones per say, but she's getting to be such a big kid. She's doing really well on the potty and I'd say she's close to being fully potty trained. I'm probably holding her back more than anything cause I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with public pottys and such. :) She continues to amaze me with her mind and all the random things she does. And of course she still loves her Micky and Minnie.
