Shower #2

I had my 2nd shower last weekend which was hosted by Cari and assisted by Mom. It was a wonderful time of course. I think my favorite thing about this one was the food! I am a huge fan of Cafe Latte. Every time I go there I order the sandwich sampler platter where you pick 3 spreads and they give you sliced bread and toppings. Cari & Mom had the great idea of copying that! So much fun and so delicious. We didn't get a good pic of the food spread but here you can mostly see it.

Homemade Ice Cream Cake too. Yummm!

Baby Girl got so many adorable outfits. I can't wait to see her in them.

Big thanks to Cari for hosting such a fun shower!

On the way to veggies

I haven't done a updated garden post in a long time and have been getting requests so here we go! I tried to be much better about thinning my plants and spacing them out than I was last year. New to my big garden this year I added edamame!! I'm very excited about those. I do need to thin them soon.

Tomatoes - which were started inside from seeds and peas.

Green beans (R) and Edamame (L)

My big surprise this year was this:

The garlic bulbs that I planted for last year (and did nothing) came back and started growing! So excited to see how they turn out.

Cucs, zucchini, squash and asparagus

In the small garden I was having problems with birds all over it and who knows what else. They ate all of my little lettuce plants, 2 of my pepper plants that I had started inside and worked so hard for, and were nibbling on some of the herbs! To protect my pants I had to buy this guy.

He seems to be doing his job so far. No missing plants and my lettuce is starting to pop up again.

Note to all my neighbors - or anyone really. My herbs are growing crazy. I keep trimming them back and throwing them away. So if you are in need of mint, chives, oregano or cilantro, please just come and cut some. Or let me know what you want and I'll cut some for ya. They are all labeled. The basil and parsley aren't ready yet but will be soon.

Summer TV Returns

My favorite show has returned for another season - So You Think You Can Dance. I have to say I like it a lot better in the summer when I can enjoy every minute of it, instead of trying to cram it between the rest of my regular shows. Last week was the first week with the contestants. Once of the dances gave me chills it was so good. Alex is the contestant and Allison is the returning all-star from season 2 or 3. It helps that she was my favorite for that season. Watch and you won't be disappointed!

Twins Game

Cari and I took Ron out for an early Father's Day night. We surprised him and got tickets to a Twins Game. I was a little scared we were going to get rained on but it turned out to be a perfect night. I'm not a huge baseball fan, so lucky for me our game was really exciting! Plus they had great food to try. I went the untraditional baseball food route and tried the Cuban sandwich and double dark chocolate gelato. Both delish!

Showers

Last weekend was filled with showers - in the literal sense, but also in baby shower terms! Saturday Jenny had a shower hosted by her sister and aunt. One of our tasks was to design a onesie for her baby girl. I do like to craft, but when it comes to anything with drawing or writing I am out. If you've seen my handwriting at all you'd understand. Let's just say when there is paper work to be filled out I usually have Justin do it.

All the onesies

Mommies to be

Sunday Cran hosted, with the help of her sister, Kate, my first shower. It was a very lovely brunch with tons of delicious food. My favorite part had to be the frozen babies we were given. When your baby becomes unfrozen it's "born". I did work on it a bit, but my baby was born first, which I hope is a really good sign of things to come! Cari's baby was quite a struggle causing her water to break all over the place and baby not wanting to let go of the ice. :) I have to say again thanks to Cran for hosting and for everyone who came! It was a great time.

Samantha Kay Gorsuch

Yesterday I became an Auntie again! Amanda had her baby girl - Samantha Kay Gorsuch around lunch time yesterday. She was 9 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long. Sounds like everyone is doing well and they might get to go home tonight already. How nice! Izzy was very excited to finally meet her little sister. Don't know much more than that yet. Hopefully more pictures will be headed this way soon!

Oh Zoey

I was all excited to put flowers in these pots I got from Michaels. They added a splash of color and brightened the kitchen, especially looking out the window at all this dreary weather we've been having.

The morning after I planted them I came downstairs and saw this...

Zoey seems to have been playing she loves me, she loves me not. Darn cat!! I thought for sure she'd get sick but there are no signs of vomit or a sick kitty. I'll be sure to fill her food dish extra high tonight and hope she won't feel the need for a flower snack.

Baby Moon

As promised here are some pictures from our trip to Door County. We stayed in Ephraim which is between Fish Creek and Sister Bay. The area was very quaint and charming. We spent most of our time relaxing, shopping and driving around the different towns. Oh and of course eating! We also visited one of the state parks - Peninsula State Park. We were hoping to take a moped tour of it, but as soon as we got to the rental place they had a big sign that said "NO PREGNANT WOMEN". Doh! The woman suggested we get a tandem bike instead but Justin wasn't very excited about lugging my around.

So many more pics, also including ones from Katie's wedding.

Back in town

Justin and I just got back from a weekend trip in WI. We started by visiting Justin's sister Amanda, then headed to my old college roommate's (Katie) wedding and finished with a Baby-moon in Door County. The whole thing was great and I was a little sad to return home to reality.

More pics to come. Here's one that Amanda took of the pregnant sisters-in-law. She's due any day now also with a girl. We were really hoping she'd go early so we could meet our little niece last Friday but alas she's already showing her stubborn side and staying put.

Look what came to work today!

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Weiner...

Yep can't get that song out of my head. Pretty sweet ride though!!

Project Updates

The house projects are coming along! All the furniture is up in Baby Girl's room. Now I just need the finishing decorations. It's so darn cute. I just love it!

Mom & Ron came over to help paint the basement. They did such a great job and got the first coat done on all of the rooms. A BIG thanks for all your help!

Justin's been working on getting the bathroom ready. Here's the tile in the bathroom shower.
